Inspect & Examine Frame

As you travel with your RV, it is exposed to stones, sand, road debris, and other objects on the road. Scratches and chipped paint on the RV’s frame can cause it to rust after exposure to moisture.

That’s why you should inspect your unit’s frame and touch it up and repaint it at least once a year, preferably in the fall before winter storage.

Before painting, sand it down for the best results. We suggest a commercial rust-proof undercoating treatment. Use gloss black, ozone-safe exterior paint in a spray can with no fluorocarbons.

For the ball on your hitch, use a light amount of chassis grease. Lubricate the coupler’s pivot points with silicone spray, but avoid using grease or oil.
